QuickBird – Geometric Correction , Path and Block Processing and Data Fusion

چکیده
Since the successful launch of DigitalGlobe’s QuickBird satellite and the availability of the data, QuickBird Imagery has quickly become the best choice for large scale mapping using high-resolution satellite images. First, the satellite has panchromatic and multispectral sensors with resolutions of 61-72cm (2-2.4ft) and 2.44-2.88m (8-9.4ft) respectively, depending upon the off-nadir viewing angle (0-25). The sensor therefore has a coverage of 16.5-19km in the across-track direction. In addition, the along-track and across-track capabilities provide a good stereo-geometry and a high revisit frequency of 1-3.5 days. Finally, the data is available in different formats, including the raw data format (Basic Imagery), which preserves the satellite geometry and is preferred by the photogrammetry and mapping community to achieve high accuracy geometric correction and geospatial products.

Hydrothermal alterations mapping using Quickbird and Landsat-8 data, a case study from Babbiduyeh, Kerman province, Iran
In this work, we focus on investigating the Quickbird and Landsat-8 datasets for mapping hydrothermal and gossans alterations in reconnaissance porphyry copper mineralization in the Babbiduyeh area. This area is situated in the Central Iranian Volcano-sedimentary Complex, where large copper deposits like Sarcheshmeh as well as numerous occurrences of copper exist. The alteration zones are discr...

متن کاملAutomated Geometric Correction of High-resolution Pushbroom Satellite Data
In this article, we present the use of the Automatic Ground control points Extraction technique (AGE) for increasing the automation in the geometric correction of high-resolution satellite imagery. The method is based on an image-to-image matching between the satellite data and an already geocoded image (i.e., a digital orthophoto). By using an adaptive least squares matching algorithm which im...
متن کاملIncreasing Geometric Resolution of Data Supplied by Quickbird Multispectral Sensors
On board of Quickbird satellite two types of sensors are present: panchromatic and multispectral. The first acquires earth images within spectral range 0.405 μm – 1.053 μm; the second acquires simultaneously four images of the same scene, each of them within shorter range of spectrum (Blue, Green, Red, Near-Infrared). Panchromatic images present geometric resolution 0.60 m while multispectral o...
